Who is responsible?
Putzen is provided by Aniket Parihar, Karl-Marx-Allee 103A, 10243 Berlin, Germany. For privacy questions, email writetoaniketparihar@gmail.com. Our contact details are also in the legal notice.
What the Mac app does
Putzen looks at the folders you choose so it can show duplicates, older files, and other files for you to review. File names, sizes, dates, and previews are processed on your Mac. Putzen does not upload your files to us, and the app does not require a Putzen account.
When you choose Trash, Putzen moves the selected file to your Mac's Trash. You can restore it there until the Trash is emptied. Putzen does not send us a list of your files or your decisions.
When you visit this website
The hosting service needs technical data such as your IP address, browser request, and time of access to deliver the page and protect the service. That data may be kept in security or access logs by the hosting provider. We use this processing to provide and secure the website, based on our legitimate interest under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. The interactive demo uses sample files in your browser and does not inspect your Mac.
Basic website analytics
We use Umami Cloud, provided by Umami Software, Inc., to understand visits to this website, referring websites, device and browser types, and approximate country. We also count pricing views, clicks on Get Putzen, manual walkthrough controls, and use of the sample demo. Actions include Keep, Trash, and Undo, including grid decisions. Campaign labels and referring websites help us connect these actions to their traffic source. These statistics help us understand whether the website explains Putzen clearly. A purchase-button click is not a confirmed purchase.
Our analytics uses no tracking cookies, advertising profiles, session recordings, or account identifiers. We do not send file names, file contents, email addresses, payment details, or URL fragments to analytics. From URL query strings, we keep only three campaign labels: utm_source, utm_medium, and utm_campaign. These tell us which platform and post brought a visit. Other parameters are discarded, and campaign labels must be short combinations of letters, numbers, hyphens, and underscores. We use these labels for campaigns, not to identify individual visitors. We only send the origin of a referring website, not its full page address. This is separate from the Mac app, which does not send us your files or decisions.
We selected Umami's EU data region. Our Hobby plan retains analytics history for six months. Umami processes connection information to provide its service and reports aggregated statistics. See Umami's privacy policy and data processing agreement for its processing and transfer safeguards. We rely on our legitimate interest in measuring and improving this website under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.
We respect Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control browser signals. You can also turn analytics off below. This saves only your choice in this browser's local storage, not a tracking identifier.

When you buy Putzen
The checkout is run by Polar, which acts as the merchant of record. Polar handles payment details, taxes, receipts, and delivery of the download. We can see the order and customer information Polar makes available to us, such as the purchase email, product, and order status, so we can provide support and manage the purchase. We do not collect card details on the Putzen website.
Polar's own privacy policy explains its payment and checkout processing. We use the order information made available to us to perform the purchase contract and meet legal obligations, under Article 6(1)(b) and (c) GDPR.
When you contact us
If you email us, we receive your email address, message, and anything you choose to include. We use it to answer you and resolve product or purchase issues. Please do not email us files that contain private information unless we ask for them and you are comfortable sharing them. Our legal basis is providing support connected to your purchase, or our legitimate interest in answering enquiries, under Article 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR.
Sharing and storage
We use providers to host the website and deliver email. Polar processes checkout and purchase data separately as described above. These providers may process data outside the European Economic Area under their own privacy and transfer safeguards. We do not sell your personal data.
We keep support messages while needed to resolve your request and maintain necessary records. Purchase records may be kept for applicable legal retention periods. We do not keep a cloud copy of the files you review in Putzen.
Your choices and rights
Depending on the circumstances, you can ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or object to processing. Email writetoaniketparihar@gmail.com. You can also complain to a data protection authority, including the authority in Berlin, Germany.
We may update this notice if our product or providers change. The date at the top shows the current version.
